Club

The Port Noarlunga Football & Sports Club is located in an idyllic setting alongside the Onkaparinga River, a short walk from the river mouth. An affiliated member of the Southern Football League, the Club boasts in excess of 300 registered players fielding teams in every age group from under 8s through to A grade. Apart from football, the Cricket and Tennis Clubs are also well established along with Netball, Gridiron and Darts within the sports complex.

The Football Club was established in 1935 when it joined the Southern Football Association, now known as the Southern Football League, and is one of its longest continuous serving member Clubs. Although “A” Grade premierships have been scarce over the years (1965,73,85,97), Port Noarlunga is considered to be one of the stronger Clubs in the League and over the years has been well represented in all age groups at our local zoned S.A.N.F.L. Club in South Adelaide. Our Club has also been represented at State Association level and A.F.L. and has developed a very good reputation for providing a genuine pathway for junior development.

Well maintained facilities along with a flat, well grassed oval and plenty of car parking all combine to present an extremely attractive package for the Club community as a whole to enjoy and be a part of. General membership is available to all supporters and parents of juniors, and membership for players is automatic when they register. The Club has a Life Member register and Honour Boards acknowledging past service by members on the committee.

Our ongoing plans for the future have addressed several aspects of the Football Clubs operations. Increasing membership by taking advantage of a changing demographic situation and the formation of a Past Player organisation has been a priority along with providing bigger and better facilities for our players and supporters including oval side shelters and improved oval lighting which we hope will increase revenue through having the capability to hold night football competitions and other events. Systemising our administration and management operations has also been a major objective to provide for succession planning and to cope with anticipated growth over the next few years, and, of course, improving and promoting the Clubs image to the general community to gain new members and sponsors.

During the 2009 period the committee formulated a detailed Strategic Plan for the Future with emphasis on an Organisational Structure which defines member’s roles clearly and effectively spreads the work load more evenly amongst the operational team.

While engaging in this Strategic planning process the committee employed the use of business tools such as S.W.O.T. analysis and a Members survey to gather and collate information with a view to continuous improvement.

Along the way, the Club administration has worked tirelessly in an effort to become “Family Friendly.” By implementing programs that will ensure our Volunteers, participating members and their families will be treated with respect and can feel safe in the Sports club environment. We are very proud of our achievements in attaining “Star Club” Status with the Office for Recreation & Sports Club Development program and our Level 3 “Good Sports” accreditation for the responsible service of Alcohol, the highest level attainable.

Our Club has also been applauded for its stance on Violence against women in the community and as “White Ribbon” ambassadors have received letters of endorsement and congratulations from several members of Politics including the Prime Minister. We have also supported “Pink Ribbon” day raising money for the fight against Breast Cancer.

We believe strongly that all sports clubs have a responsibility to provide the best possible service in all aspects of their operations that they can to ensure the wellbeing of its members and the community in general.

Facilities

The Port Noarlunga Football Club offer some great clubrooms for after match functions.

They also offer dinner on a thursday and saturday night. Thursday is typically for players, but saturday night meals are for anyone whom wish to attend. Prices are very reasonable. Some of the food on offer is; chicken schnitzel, steak (cooked how you like it) and chips, and all meals get either vegetables or salad, depending upon what has been prepared for the night.
